Description

In December 1914, attorney Solomon Stanwood Menken and General Leonard Wood founded the National Security League (NSL). It drew members from a wide political spectrum and its primary purpose was to introduce compulsory military training, increase the size of the United States Army, and mandate government control over the economy to increase war preparedness.
