Ending the Business of Injustice: Anti-Sweatshop Activism at the University of Michigan, 1999-2007

Aria Everts

Aria Everts transferred to the University of Michigan in 2005, graduating in 2008. Everts joined SOLE almost immediately after arriving on campus and quickly became one of its most prominent leaders. In 2007, she sat on the President's Committee on Labor Standards and Human Rights and helped to organize the sit-in at President Coleman's office-- Everts was one of the twelve students arrested. Following college, Everts worked for a company that sold union-made, environmentally sustainable promotional products and is currently creating her own business.
