Ending the Business of Injustice: Anti-Sweatshop Activism at the University of Michigan, 1999-2007

Yousef Rabhi

Yousef Rabhi, a 2011 University of Michigan graduate, was active in SOLE from 2007 until its demise. As a freshman, Rabhi participated in the occupation of President Coleman's office and was one of the twelve students arrested. As SOLE declined, Rabhi remained involved in activist circles, protesting the Iraq war and doing environmental work. In his senior year of college, Rabhi ran successfully for Washtenaw County Commission and continues to serve in that role today.
