Description
This Michigan Daily article announces the passing of the Espionage Bill in the United States Senate. The senate voted with overwhelming majority for the introduction of a law that would punish anyone who interfered with military operations or recruitment and aided the enemy. It also prohibited the distribution of printed materials that compromised the US war efforts. The bill was signed into law on June 15, 1917 as the Espionage Act of 1917.
