Stronger Together: Women of Color Task Force
In 1979, Jennie Partee of the Affirmative Action Office and Beulah Sanders of the School of Education formed the beginnings of what is known today as the Women of Color Task Force. The Women of Color Task Force (WCTF) was a group that aimed at empowering female university employees while helping them acquire skills and tools to succeed in their professional lives. The WCTF provides "professional development opportunities for employees, with a focus of addressing the needs of women of color staff."1 The Task Force acted to empower women of color and assisted not only in their professional development, but also in their personal lives.2
Pictured below are clippings of meeting minutes from a 1982 meeting of the Women of Color Task Force:
Now run through the Center for the Education of Women, the Women of Color Task Force is still active in the lives of University women today.
