July 28th to August 6: Austria-Hungary, Russia, Germany, France, (formerly neutral) Belgium, and Britain declare war on each other, with the Allies: France, Belgium, Britain, Russia opposing Germany and Austria-Hungary.
August 3: Germany invades Belgium.
