The Aftermath of War
Following the armistice of World War I on November 11, 1918, University of Michigan’s campus began its return to pre-war focuses on educating students, conducting research, and cheering on its football team. Soldiers began the slow process of readjusting to civilian and student life. Michigan alumni resumed their careers and carried on with their lives. However, although the war was over, the campus, alumni, faculty, students, and families were forever changed by their wartime experiences.
